History of Spirit of Oklahoma Cheer!

We began as All the Right Moves power tumbling and cheerleading in 1986 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. We are proud to call this city our home. We began in an office complex with a one strip mat as our tumbling mat. After a few years, we were bursting at the seams and began looking for a place to build our own facility. In 1994, we built a 5,000 sq. ft. facility and called it home. Again, after growing by leaps and bounds, this facility could no longer handle our students. Personally, because of my love for cheerleading, I never wanted for this to become a business. I didn't want for our program to get so big that the personal touch with our parents and students would be lost. But I said I would move one more time.

This brings us to 1999 and our current facility. We are very proud of our 10,000 sq. ft. facility. The larger facility has allowed us to alleviate waiting lists for our classes and offer a better service to our students. We believe it is one of the nicest and most practical cheerleading facilities around. Many cheer gyms have patterned our floor plan when building their own gyms. Instead of making our gym facility even bigger, we feel it is better to invest in things that will make each individual student better. Also, because of our nationally competitive all star program, Spirit of Oklahoma, to eliminate any confusion, we chose to change the name of our gym to Spirit of Oklahoma Cheer.

One of our objectives is to create champions both on and off the floor. We truly feel we are mentors to our students and are determined to instill character and qualities that will last a lifetime. We believe the atmosphere around us is what sets our attitudes. How you feel mentally determines how you perform physically. Although the growing is endless, we stick to our philosophy of individual attention. We only allow a certain amount of students in each class and will not go beyond that number.

I love Spirit of Oklahoma cheer, our coaches and being a part of a wonderful company that I am proud to say, with much encouragement from my family and friends, I started many years ago. If someone would have asked me then if I would still be doing this in 2006, I probably would say “no way.” The rewards have far outweighed the disappointments and challenges. Because of my love for helping to mold kids and my love for cheer, I still have my business, and feel stronger than ever, in 2006. We are constantly looking for ways to make our classes more productive. We know perfection is difficult sometimes, but we will continue to strive for it.

I am so proud of our legacy and look forward to what our future holds. Spirit of Oklahoma amazes me every day. I truly believe we have some of the best, most talented coaches and choreographers in the nation right here in Midwest City, Oklahoma. We are dedicated and will continue to make Spirit of Oklahoma Cheer one of the best cheer gyms in the nation!
